SightsThe town is most known for its steel industry. The Protestant church of St. James in Peine offers an impressive vision for wall and ceiling paintings, and up to 800 places of worship and concerts. After the original church burned down in 1557, was rebuilt only a few hundred meters further south.
Leisure timePeine offers several dance halls and two well-equipped theater spaces, and therefore is a good place for cultural activities. Also, there are two cinemas, the larger one has 300 seats.
