Scenes from The Sound of Music were filmed on site, and the Salzburg Festival was founded there. Leopoldskron Palace is privately owned and not generally accessible to the public. The rooms in the Meierhof Annex and the suites, which are all situated at the palace, feature satellite TV, a minibar, and a bathroom.
