Leimen is a town in northwest Baden-Württemberg, about seven kilometers south of Heidelberg. It is the third largest town in the district Rhein-Neckar-Kreises.
Historical sitesThe town hall with The Hall of Mirrors, the former palace of Aaron Elias Seligmann, later of Baron von Eichthal, is a representative building in the center of the town. The French tower with the rest of the city walls is a symbol of the town. Evangelical Church of St. Maurice was built in 1681/83, rebuilt after the destruction in 1732 and in 1932 construction expanded. In Bettendorff''s castle in Gauangelloch now a gallery is located. The town hall in the suburb of St. Ilgen has a carillon of Meissen porcelain.

SightsThe village is a state-recognized spa. Place of interest in Bernkastel is the medieval market square with its houses with half-timbered gables dating from the 17th Century, among which stands out pointed house Spitzhäuschen, coming from the 1416. Michael's fountain from 1606 with many other preserved buildings and Renaissance town hall from 1608 adorn the city. In the local part of Bernkastel lie the ruins of Landshut Castle, former summer residence of the archbishops of Trier, which was destroyed by fire in 1692. Also worth seeing the Graacher Tor, the only remaining city gate. The surrounding countryside is well known for wine growing.
