Celle an der Aller is a large independent town and county in the district Celle in Lower Saxony. Celle is considered the southern gateway to the region of Lüneburg Heath. It is a picturesque old town with more than 400 half-timbered houses and lock in the style of the Renaissance and Baroque. The town of Celle lies in the glacial valley of the Aller river, about 40 kilometres northeast of Hannover.
