The seaside town Warnemünde is the northern part of a Hanseatic city Rostock in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. River Varnava flows here into the Baltic Sea. Warnemünde has the largest sandy beach on the German Baltic coast. They are suitable for kite surfing, surfing, windsurfing, diving and swimming. You can fly a kite, run Nordic walking, beach volleyball and other sports. Every summer, the event Warnemünder Woche and Hans Sail (marine plants) takes place here.
