Buxtehude is located in the metropolitan area of Hamburg and is a separate municipality in the district Stade in Lower Saxony. More than 700 years old St. Peter´s church with a Gothic brick basilica is the most visible feature of the town of Buxtehude. Dieterich Buxtehude was a German-Danish organist and composer of the Baroque period.
