Norderney is one of the seven populated East Frisian Islands off the North Sea coast of Germany. It is also a municipality in the district of Aurich in Lower Saxony. Norderney is 14 km long, from the widest points to the west end and in the middle of the island its width is up to 2.5 km and with 26.3 km ² it is the tenth largest German island. The city is in region Lower Saxony.
Norderney IslandThe population is approximately 6200 inhabitants. On the north side extends a 14 km long sandy beach, eastern the island is neighbor Baltrum, which is separated by the Wichter Ee, is only 800m away.
