IslandIn the west Baltrum is separated by sea Wichter Ee from Norderney and in the east by sea Accumer Ee from Langeoog. They say, that the island called Baltrum because it were so small that was „bald rum“ („soon rum“). This alludes to the small size of the island. However, a complete circumnavigation of the island is about 15 km.

Rodenbach is a municipality in the district Main-Kinzig in the county of Hessen. Rodenbach is near Hanau, about 20 km east of Frankfurt am Main on the edge of Vorspessarts and is mostly surrounded by forest, which is part of the Hessian Spessart nature park. Both districts lie on the same name river Bach, known in its lower reaches as a Lache. It flows southwest the Rodenbach through Bulau and there opens into the Kinzig, which flows north over the direction of Hanau to Rodenbach. The nearest major town next to Hanau is Langenselbold.

Norderney is 14 km long, from the widest points to the west end and in the middle of the island its width is up to 2.5 km and with 26.3 km ² it is the tenth largest German island. The city is in region Lower Saxony.
