SightsGerman National Theatre Weimar with the town band is the most important theater in Weimar. The largest local church is the parish church of St. Peter and Paul, which was largely built around 1500. Extensive landscaped park on the outskirts of the center is part of the green corridor along the few-kilometers-long river Ilm. Weimar is due to many historical sites, museums, galleries, theater and many other historical monuments, the most important destination for urban tourism in Thuringia.
