City of three riversThe city has the status as urban district and it is also the administrative center of the land district Passau. Passau is known as a city of three rivers. Run down here to the Danube, Inn and Ilz. Thanks to its picturesque and baroque architecture the city is frequently visited by tourists. You can take a boat cruise around Passau and the surrounding towns.
Public transportPassau has advanced network of public transport. There is the railvay station with trains running categories InterCity, Eurocity and ICE in the center of town and around the town there is motorway linking Regensburg to Linz. Important transport routes are also rivers Danube and Inn.

IslandIn the west Baltrum is separated by sea Wichter Ee from Norderney and in the east by sea Accumer Ee from Langeoog. They say, that the island called Baltrum because it were so small that was „bald rum“ („soon rum“). This alludes to the small size of the island. However, a complete circumnavigation of the island is about 15 km.
