Mülheim an der Ruhr is a city in the Ruhr area in the western state of North Rhine-Westphalia in district of Mülheim. The city is classified as a regional center. TownIn the town of Rust there is Balthasar castle built in 1577, where lived the noble family of Böcklin from Böcklinsau. The Catholic parish church of St. Peter in Chains is the only parish church in the city. In addition to the Europa Park, which attracts several million visitors every year, there is a nature reserve Taubergiessen. It is one of the few remaining lowland landscapes in Germany.
