The Island

Langeness is an island in the North Frisian Islands in the North Sea, not far from the coast of Schleswig-Holstein in the district Nordfriesland. The island with altitude 1 meter above sea level is available across the sea from the railway embankment only during the low tide. Tourism, in addition to agriculture and employment in coastal protection, is an important source of income for residents. To the west of the island is an old lighthouse built in 1902 with a height of 11.50 m.
